39.9kW Grid-Tie Custom Structure
This couple and their teenager lives on an rural acreage in Western Canada. They wanted a solar system that produces a significant portion of their energy needs and provides some backup in the event of a power failure. Their goal was to run a pellet furnace, lighting and a water pump for their 3000 sq. ft. home.
HES PV designed a 40kW solar system and mounted it directly on the slope of the roof. The solar panels are secured to the roof with anodized aluminum rails and all wiring is secured and hidden under the solar panels. The solar system is wired in eight 5kW blocks, each with its own inverter. This keeps the wire sizes small and manageable. The inverters all talk to each other and the displays show the cumulative solar output.
This system was designed to exceed a 25 year life span. All components are approved to CSA standards and are of high quality. There is an expected production of 49MWh/yr with no maintenance expected.
