Victoria Character House Updates with 4.4kW of Solar Electricity
Why Install a Solar Electric System in Victoria?
The owner of this beautiful 1906 home is environmentally minded and has an electric car in her future. She wanted to run it, and a large portion of her home on solar electricity.
HES proposed a solar system that would complement this character house. All-black, high powered mono crystalline solar modules were selected with black FastRack trim kits to hide the rails and add a finished look. The solar system system consists of 17 solar panels carefully attached to the cedar shake roof. Enphase MicroInverters allow the system to maximize production and include a 25 year warranty. As part of BC Hydro's Net Metering Program, the system exports power to the utility during the day for a full credit to offset their purchases during the night. Online monitoring shows the daily solar production.
Production of +4800 kWh per year, resulting in significantly lower utility costs for the next +30 years. Electrical energy production for 24,000km of all-electric driving per year.
